The branch opened in the Annapolis Exchange Building at 1997 Annapolis Exchange Parkway on Feb. 1. It is co-located with the bank’s regional headquarters.
Michael L. Cavey, a Howard Bank Senior Vice President, leads the team focused on Anne Arundel County banking. Vice Presidents and Relationship Managers Peter J. Stephan and Tom Drake, and Stacey E. Doherty, an assistant relationship manager and the office manager, round out the team of experienced bankers serving the market.
“Anne Arundel County is a growing, diverse market,” Cavey said. “We’re pleased that it has been so receptive to Howard Bank.
“We now have a well-rounded, experienced team with deep roots in Anne Arundel County, and we’re looking forward to serving and enriching the community.”
The new office offers a full array of lending and cash management services for small and medium sized businesses, their owners and executives in the county. It has been approved as a commercial branch and can accept in person noncash deposits to supplement remote deposit processing and bank courier pickups from customers’ offices.
“The opening of the Annapolis branch to supplement the lending, cash management and advisory services offered through the regional office represents the culmination of a long-term strategy to take the bank’s ‘hands on’ brand to this most attractive marketplace,” said bank President and CEO Mary Ann Scully.
“We have believed for some time that our message of high touch sophisticated banking targeted at businesses and professionals would resonate with the Anne Arundel business community.”In addition, Scully said, “our ability to attract Mike Cavey, Peter Stephan and Stacey Doherty to our team was the key to allow us to offer the same signature knowledge of the community we’ve been delivering in Howard County for over five years. Tom Drake’s cash management expertise will be an invaluable addition to this marketplace. And their expertise is complemented by our growing group of Anne Arundel-based community leaders as board members.
“We’re excited to have this opportunity to show our commitment to a large and growing business community.”
Howard Bank opened in August of 2004. In addition to the new Annapolis branch, it has locations in the Village of Hickory Ridge in Columbia, on Snowden River Parkway in Ellicott City, on Johns Hopkins Road in Maple Lawn and at the intersection of Route 40 and Centennial Lane in Ellicott City.
