Alternative Board Members Discuss Survivor Marketing

Survivor Marketing was the topic at the Feb. 24, Power Discussions for Enterprising Women event hosted by Howard Bank and the Alternative Board.

The Alternative Board provides a combination of peer advice and business coaching for privately held businesses. Board members and a business consultant/facilitator meet monthly to learn from each other's successes and mistakes and brainstorm ways to grow their businesses.

Participating women discussed Survivor Marketing: Outsmart, Outsell, Outlast a Tough Economy.

Topics included spending marketing dollars more efficiently when your budget is put to the test, taking advantage of new creative tactics in media, adapting your company's products and services to a new economy, and attracting new customers and retaining current ones

The event took place at The Redhead Companies, an Ellicott City-based marketing, advertising and Web development firm.

Howard Bank opened in August of 2004. It currently has branches in the Hickory Ridge Village Center in Columbia, on Snowden River Parkway in Ellicott City and on Johns Hopkins Road in Maple Lawn. A new Centennial Place Branch at Centennial Lane and Route 40 opened this month.
