Howard Bank’s Mary Ann Scully Named Woman of Distinction
BWN is dedicated to promoting and supporting professional women in their careers as executives, business owners and leaders.
A resident of West Friendship, Scully had a long career as an executive in Baltimore based banking, before founding Howard Bank in 2004, the first new bank in the county in over 15 years.
Since she moved to Howard County in 1995, Scully has become involved in almost every aspect of community life. She chairs the Howard County United Way Partnership Board, serves on the Board of the United Way of Central Maryland and was its 2003/2004 county campaign chair, is a Horizon Foundation Board trustee and is vice chair of both the Columbia Foundation and the Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County.
She’s a former trustee of the Howard Community College Foundation Board and served on the college’s Campaign Council and chaired its 2007/2008 Commission on the Future. She was also the 2005/2006 co-chair of the Grassroots Capital Campaign. Scully was named to the Howard County Women’s Hall of Fame in 2007.
