Mary Ann Scully
Chairman, President, Chief Executive Officer

Mary Ann is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Howard Bank and chairs the bank's board of directors. She is a lifelong banker with over 35 years of varied executive experiences in the Maryland marketplace. In 2003, she headed the organizing team for Howard Bank, the first new bank to open in the county in 15 years. Prior to organizing Howard Bank, Mary Ann was employed by Allfirst Bank (formerly The First National Bank of Maryland and now M&T Bank) from 1973-2003. Included in the positions she held were Executive Vice President for Regional Banking, Senior Vice President for Strategic Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Senior Vice President / Group Head of International Banking. As EVP for Regional Banking for Allfirst Bank, Mary Ann managed all branch, small business and middle market customer activities in four states and the District of Columbia.

Mary Ann has been a Howard County resident since 1995. She is the immediate past chair of the Maryland Bankers Association (MBA), the immediate past Chair of the Columbia Foundation, Howard County's community foundation. Mary Ann is a trustee of Howard County General Hospital, a trustee of Catholic Charities and a board member of Kennedy Krieger Institute and she sits on the President's Advisory Council of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. She is an active member of St. Louis Parish in Clarksville, Maryland. She is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Maryland. Mary Ann chaired the Howard Community College's Commission on the Future in 2007/2008 and was formerly a trustee of the Howard Community College Foundation Board as well as serving on the college's Campaign Council. She chaired the Howard County United Way Partnership Board until July 2008 and served on the board of the United Way of Central Maryland until 2009. She was also the 2003/2004 Howard County Campaign Chair of the United Way. She was the 2012 Chair of the American Heart Association "Heart Ball" in Howard County , the 2005/ 2006 co-chair of the Grassroots Capital Campaign and is a former Trustee of the Horizon Foundation. She served as Vice Chair of the Howard County Women's Giving Circle and was formerly on the board of advisors for Loyola College's Sellinger School of Business as well as a past vice president until 2000 of the Baltimore Opera Company Board of Trustees and a member of the board of the Maryland International Visitors Center.

In 2007, Mary Ann was recognized as an honoree in the Howard County Women's Hall of Fame; she was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Howard County Chamber of Commerce. In 2002, 2005 and 2007, Mary Ann was recognized as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women by The Daily Record, and was a 2008 and 2012 Daily Record Influential Marylander. She was named a most admired CEO by the Daily Record in 2012.She was the BWN Woman of Distinction in 2008, received the United Way of Central Maryland's Clementine Peterson Award, was one of the Baltimore Business Journal's 2004 "Enterprising Women" and is a 2008 Seton Hill University Distinguished Alumni and a 2005 Alumni Laureate honoree for Loyola College.

Paul G. Brown
Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer, Chief Client Services Officer

Paul is also a lifelong banker with over 30 years of sales management, credit and strategic management experiences in mid-Atlantic banking. Paul provides direct leadership for the relationship management activities of the bank-commercial and consumer lending, branch and client service areas and the financial advice functions. Prior to joining the organizing group for Howard Bank, Paul served, from 2001-2003, as the Senior Vice President of Regional Banking for Allfirst Bank (now M&T Bank). Before joining Allfirst Bank, he served as Regional President for Keystone Bank and Senior Vice President of Retail Banking for Sun Trust Bank (1997-2000). Paul has also held senior management positions at Citizens Bank of Maryland and Maryland National Bank (now Bank of America) in the areas of strategic planning, real estate finance and retail banking.

Paul has served on the Maryland Bankers Association's Government Relations Committee and the Virginia Bankers Association's School of Bank Management. He also serves as a rules official for the Middle Atlantic, Washington Metropolitan and United States Golf Associations and is a past President of the Washington Metropolitan Golf Association. He is a graduate of the Howard County Leadership Program and served on its Youth on Board Advisory Program, as well as being a member of the Ellicott City Rotary and serving as a Trustee for the Maryland Banker's Association's School of Bank Management. Mr. Brown currently serves a Chair of the Board of Trustees of Trinity School in Ellicott City as well as Secretary of the Howard County Public School Educational Foundation Board (Bright Minds Foundation).

Charles E. Schwabe
Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Information Officer

Charlie has almost 25 years of bank management experience and another 7 years as a marketing strategy and marketing research consultant to the banking, pharmaceutical, medical diagnostics and business services industries. At Howard Bank, he provides leadership for the operations, information technology, human resources, loan documentation, deposit management and other areas of administration including the bank's strategic partnership outsourcing arrangements. He is also the Bank and Bancorp's Secretary and the Bank's Information Security Officer and CRA Officer. Prior to joining the organizing group for Howard Bank in 2003, Charlie was employed by Allfirst Bank and its predecessor bank, First National Bank of Maryland, from 1988 until April of 2003. He served as Senior Vice President and Manager for the Customer Relationship Management Program as well as the Strategy and Planning Director for the Technology, eCommerce and Operations Division. At Allfirst Bank, Charlie was also Vice President of Strategic Planning for the Mergers and Acquisitions Division and Vice President and Head of small business and retail product development and management. Prior to working at Allfirst Bank, Charlie was consultant and senior manager for a marketing firm that specialized in the health care and financial services industries.

Charlie is President and Chairman of the Columbia Festival of the Arts Board of Trustees and is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maryland Bank Services, Inc., a subsidiary of the Maryland Bankers Association. He is also currently serving on the Howard County Good Scouts Leadership Award Committee and the Catholic Charities Leadership Breakfast Campaign Committee and is a member of the America Bankers Association's Commercial Product Advisory Board and the Advisory Board for Safe Systems, an information technology firm. He is also a member of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Advisory Board for the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation based in Memphis, Tennessee. He has served as the President of the Baltimore chapter of the American Marketing Association and has been an instructor in Marketing, Research and Economics at Goucher College and Drexel University. He has also served on Loyola College's Marketing Advisory Board and as a coach for the Carroll Manor lacrosse, field hockey, softball and basketball programs.

George Coffman
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

George is another lifelong banker with over 25 years of experience in the operations, accounting, investment and finance areas of banks in the central Maryland area. George provides leadership for the financial management and investment operations of Howard Bank. In this role, George directly manages all of the corporate accounting functions, management and regulatory reporting, and compliance with accounting principles and disclosure requirements. George also is responsible for the management of interest rate risk, budgeting and financial planning, and tax planning and reporting. Other duties include directing the investment portfolio, as well as overall funds management, and investor relations. George is a Certified Public Accountant. He also serves as the bank's Chief Investment Officer.

Prior to joining the organizing group of Howard Bank, George held several senior financial management positions at Maryland based Financial Institutions, including Mercantile Bank in Baltimore, Farmers & Mechanics Bank in Frederick, Sequoia Bank in Bethesda, and Citizens Bank of Maryland in Laurel.

George and his family have been residents of Howard County for almost 25 years.
