Howard Bank Announces the Return of its Annual “Keep It Local” Contest With $10,000 for the Winning Small Business
BALTIMORE, MD, May 4, 2020 – Howard Bank, a locally headquartered community-focused commercial bank serving businesses, professionals and individuals, announced today that for the second consecutive year, it is hosting its “Keep It Local” contest to support small businesses in and around the Baltimore region.
The goal is to recognize and support a local small business for its extraordinary work within its community. The contest is looking for small businesses to nominate themselves for a chance to win $10,000. The public is encouraged to help spread the word and will be able to participate in the subsequent voting rounds.

Here’s how the contest works:
Starting Monday, May 4th, eligible businesses can nominate themselves by simply filling out an online form by clicking the link: Howardbank.com/KeepItLocal
The applicant must provide an inspiring story about the business as well as an explanation regarding how the business has gone above and beyond for its community. The nominated business must be located within Howard Bank’s branch footprint, which includes Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Cecil, Harford and Howard counties as well as Baltimore City.
Nominations will close on Friday, May 15th. The Top 15 businesses will be announced on Monday, June 1st and the first round of voting will be open to the public until Monday, June 8th.
The Top 5 businesses will advance to the second round of voting beginning on Monday, June 15th and closing on Monday, June 22nd. The winner of Howard Bank’s 2020 Keep It Local contest will be announced on Tuesday, June 30th.
