Heffernan Joins Howard Bank's Baltimore Team
Sean Heffernan has joined Howard Bank as a vice president, relationship manager and member of the bank's new Baltimore Team.
The team focuses on meeting the banking needs of Baltimore City and County businesses with $5-$50 million in revenue.
For now, the three-member team is based in Howard County, but the bank expects to open a loan production office to serve Baltimore City and County businesses later this year. It also hopes to open a retail branch in Baltimore after the commercial office is up and running.
Heffernan brings 16 years of commercial banking experience to the team. He comes to Howard Bank from M&T Bank, where he was also a vice president and middle market relationship manager. Before joining M&T, he was a commercial banker at The Columbia Bank and Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust.
A graduate of Loyola College, Heffernan lives in Timonium. In his spare time, he enjoys sports and has completed several marathons. He played lacrosse in college and was an NCAA All-American in 1994. He also received Loyola's Most Unselfish Player award that year.
He has been a member of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Baltimore Technology Council. He served on the board of directors of the Henrietta Square Condominium Association in Federal Hill for more than 10 years.
"We're very excited to have Sean as part of our team," said Tom Drake, the Howard Bank vice president who heads the Baltimore Team. "He brings commercial lending experience with larger banks, but can provide a level of personal service customers can't get from the big banks."
