Basir Joins Howard Bank and Howard Bancorp Boards

Nasser Basir, founder, CEO and President of PSI Pax, Inc., has been elected to the boards of Howard Bank and Howard Bancorp.

Howard Bank is Howard County’s  only locally-owned bank and has branches in Columbia, Maple Lawn and Ellicott City. as well as a commercial office in Annapolis.

PSI Pax, Inc. is an information technology services company based in Lexington Park. Basir started the firm in 2006 as a spin off from Planned Systems international, Inc., an IT services business he co-founded in 1988.

Basir has than more than 30 years of   leadership and specialized technical experience as an IT consultant to both government and commercial organizations. His current responsibilities include strategic planning, business development and financial and corporate management. During his career, he has had responsibility for a number of multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts.

Basir has served as a member of the High Technology Council of Maryland, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the Leukemia Society of America. He has also served on the Boards of Directors of the Jim Rouse Entrepreneurial Fund, Howard County Chamber of Commerce and the Patuxent Partnership.

He is currently a member of the boards of Leadership Howard County and Glenelg Country School. He is also a member of the Howard Community College Technology Advisory Board.

Basir earned an undergraduate degree in Information Systems Management at the University of Maryland. He is a graduate of Leadership Maryland and Leadership Howard County and has attended senior  management courses at George Washington University, Johns Hopkins, and Dartmouth College.

He lives in Highland with his wife, Schantz, and their children, Skye and Tara.
