Talkin Elected to Howard Bank Board
Local attorney Richard B. Talkin has been elected the 15th director of Howard Bancorp and Howard Bank, Mary Ann Scully, President and CEO, has announced. Talkin is an investor and former advisory board member of the bank.
Howard Bank is Howard County’s only locally owned and managed bank. It was founded in 2004. The community bank is dedicated to serving the needs of local businesses, owners and professionals.
Talkin is noted for real estate law, zoning, administrative law, real estate construction and development, and estate planning. He is a well-known community leader, having served as president of The Columbia Foundation Board of Directors and chairman of the Howard County Leadership Program and the Howard County United Way Campaign, and as a board member of Howard County General Hospital, Howard County Chamber of Commerce and Howard County Conservancy, among other civic positions. He is also past chairman of the Maryland Science Center.
Howard Bank has branches in the Village of Hickory Ridge in Columbia, on Snowden River Parkway in Ellicott City and on Johns Hopkins Road in Maple Lawn. A fourth branch in Ellicott City at the crossroads of Route 40, Centennial Lane and Frederick Road is also planned.
