Howard Bank, the county’s only locally owned and locally managed community bank, celebrated the grand opening of its new Maple Lawn branch with a ribbon cutting and community party on Oct. 21, according to Mary Ann Scully, president and CEO.

Howard County Executive James N. Robey and Howard County Economic Development Authority President & CEO Richard Story joined Scully and Maple Lawn branch manager Marc Lee in officially cutting the ribbon to open the bank.

The bank’s new full service branch, its third, is located at Johns Hopkins Road and Old Columbia Road, immediately adjacent to the Maple Lawn Farms development, a 507-acre planned community just south of Columbia.  The 3,200 square-foot branch features three drive-through lanes.

The new Maple Lawn branch is similar to the existing Howard Bank branch offices at Snowden River Parkway in Ellicott City and Hickory Ridge in Columbia in providing high touch customized service including dedicated branch relationship managers and tellers, signature community room, combined business ATM’s and night depositories and hand scanning safe deposit box area.

In early 2007, Howard Bank it will open its first branch on Route 40 near Centennial Lane.
