Women's Giving Circle Announces New Officers and New Members of Advisory Board

The Women's Giving Circle of Howard County, an organization of women philanthropists dedicated to addressing the needs of women and girls in Howard County, announces the election of the following officers:

Dorothy V. Harris, Chair
Harris is vice president for Special Projects on Children and Families at PaL-Tech, Inc. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Columbia Foundation.

MaryAnn Scully, Vice Chair
Mary Ann Scully is President and Chief Executive Officer of Howard Bank. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Columbia Foundation.

Yolanda Bruno, Treasurer
One of the original co-founders of the Women's Giving Circle, Bruno has had a lifelong interest in women's political and community issues and actively works to support those causes.

Newly appointed committee chairs include: Buffy Beaudoin-Schwartz - PR/Communications; Jean F. Moon - Grants; Lori Fuchs - Donor Development; and Barbara Lawson - Nominating.

The Advisory Board, made up of members of the Women's Giving Circle, provides governance and directs the distribution of grants. Four new members have joined the Advisory Board: Cynthia Taliano, Beverly Koren, Pam Sorota-Mowery, and Joanne Saltzberg.

The mission of the Women's Giving Circle is building a community of female philanthropists, creating a permanent endowment fund and providing grants to institutions and initiatives that address the needs of women and girls in Howard County. The WGC is a donor advised fund with The Columbia Foundation, Howard County's community foundation.
